So many exciting things are in the simmering musical pot of life at the moment. I’ve just come out of some recording sessions at the brand new 301 studios with Jenny Eriksson and the Marais Project. Keep your eyes out for their 20th anniversary album which will feature my arrangements of a Marais suite for gamba and accordion, as well as some beautiful Argentinian songs.
I am excited to announce that I will be playing the Woodford Folk Festival over new years 18/19 with my dear friends The Rhythm Hunters on funky keys and synthy sounds. Very much looking forward to this opportunity to perform with such a fantastic group – it will be my first Rhythm hunting outing! Check them out here: httpss://www.facebook.com/TheRhythmHunters/
I’ll be heading up to Brisbane for the Oz Manouche festival Nov 29 – Dec 2 with my new jazz duo Blue and Sentimental featuring Luke Chapman on guitar and myself on accordion and vocals.
Keep your ears out early 2019 for the new sounds of my group Chaika – as we are about to head into the studio to record our third album. All our fans will finally be able to take home or download our latest sounds they have been loving on the live stage. An album tour will definitely follow.
Another very big project I am working on is the launch of my new jazz quintet in 2019. Put January 20th in your diaries, as that’s when we will be doing our first performance at the Camelot Lounge, Marrickville. Tickets will go on sale mid Dec!
I am also planning a short time again in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in May. I’ll be spending time with my dear friend Owen Salome working on our repertoire for Tangalo 9 piece album plus working with the great guitarist Adrian Ramirez on a duo project I hope to tour in Australia late 2019.
In the new year I will also be setting up a Patreon account. It is an opportunity for fans of the music I create to get more involved with small scale artist patronage! It helps give life to all these beautiful musical projects and collaborations, plus my Patreon fans will have some extra special treatment when it comes to musical tid-bits and recordings I share.
