This album has indeed enjoyed immense anticipation from all members of Chaika and many of our fans, being postponed on two occasions. The time it has spent slow cooking however, will just make this one super juicy and delicious!! For any of my web visitors who don’t know Chaika – check us out HERE
This new album will be recorded at one of Australia’s top studios, Studios 301, with the masterful Llew Kiek producing (two times ARIA award winner with the Mara! band , plus 6 ARIA nominations) and our most favourite recording engineer Bob Scott at the recording helm! (Lior/Westlake ARIA 2014, Australian Screen Sound Guild award, and an AACTA (AFI) and Helpmann Award 2012 Nominations) We are excited to be back at 301, this time at their new and spiffy renovated studios in Alexandria.
The album will feature a great deal of new fandangled, epic, quirky, profound and delicately crafted original pieces, most in English (now their is a surprise!!) as well as our Chaika-fied versions of a Swedish and Turkish folk song. Nine tracks are being recorded all up and we simply CAN’T WAIT to share them with you. Although I suppose we must – as a diamond takes a great deal of time and pressure to produce 😉 Keep your eyes peeled for launch dates but in the meantime you can enjoy our music LIVE in the FLESH on January 13th at the Petersham Bowlo in Sydney!
